A Foodies Daily Menu

I have self proclaimed myself as a foodie. I love everything about food. When I go on vacations I always research tripadvisor.com and find the best restaurants around so that I will be eating the best that our destination has to offer. Now, as much as I love food, I love animals more. I donate every month to the ASPCA and I am a member of Peta. Recently I decided to become a vegetarian, I did not expect my daughter and husband to follow me but I do expect them to eat Kosher, which they have been since November. I have found new meals to replace my old ones, and I am so happy I did.

My morning consists of tea with a morning glory muffin, or some creama (Spanish oatmeal). For lunch I have half a pita with lettuce, avocado, tomato, and hummus. For dinner I have either the tomato mozzarella stack, ahi tuna with some vegetables, or salmon with brown rice and beans.

Foodie Fridays: Morning Glory Muffins

Every Sunday morning I would wake up early and run out to the farmers market by my house in hopes of getting some morning glory muffins. These muffins were everything I wanted in a breakfast, it was delicious, it had crunch, it was moist, and was filling. I would normally get one for every day of the week, but it cost me $30 each week, and then I thought, I can do that! So I looked online and did a lot of trial and error, and I found these muffins which are just as good, if not better than the farmers market ones!

Coral Chiffon

Hudson Jeans (now on sale!!), bebe Chiffon top, Louis Vuitton Purse, Steve Madden Booties

All throughout middle school and high school I wore bell bottoms, the bigger the better. I loved everything about them, and I would pair it with converses, making my legs look short. Now the thing is skinny jeans, they go with rain boots, heels, sneakers, flats, Uggs. just about everything. While I do love skinny jeans, I missed my flared jeans. I have been on the lookout for flattering jeans with a flare that I could wear with some sky high heels, making my legs look extremely long. I found them a couple weeks back while browsing Zappos, they fit like a glove and I have since ordered many more pairs of jeans from Hudson.

New Products

I have recently tried, and LOVED, some new products. I have been using MakeUp Forever HD foundation for about a year now, and I always loved how it looked, but recently I thought, could there be better? Which led me to try the MakeUp Forever Mat Velvet, which is a full coverage foundation, where as the HD foundation is medium coverage. I loved how the new foundation looked and felt light on my face. I also bought Cover FX's concealer, which is everything I wanted in a concealer, it really truly conceals everything that needs it. Overall I am very happy with how the new makeup makes my face look. I will be sticking with these products for a while as I do not think there is better out there.

Neon Yellows

The weather is finally getting warm and I am taking full advantage. I love throwing on some shorts, wedges, and a fun top. It is all so effortless and comes together with ease. Lately I have been embracing the bold colors. I love how brightening up your wardrobe can brighten up your whole day. When I saw this top a couple weeks back I knew I had to buy it. Its light, a bright bold neon yellow, and has a cute button detail on the sleeves. I paired it with some sparkly Steve Madden wedges and Abercrombie shorts.

Foodie Fridays: Raspberry Cupcakes

Since as long as I can remember I have loved anything with raspberry.  I remember driving to Connecticut to see my moms friend and we would always stop at this farm, a couple miles from her house, and get two containers full of raspberries and by the time we got to our destination I had eaten all the raspberries. Every year on my birthday I would have a raspberry mouse cake, and it was always perfection, a tradition that I have continued with my daughter. I love them more than words can describe in this post. So I knew for my next Foodie Fridays post I would have to make cupcakes, and what better cupcakes to make than raspberry cupcakes. Its a time consuming recipe, but the results are so worth it. The cake itself is moist and delicious, the icing, ahh the icing, it is creamy and sweet and has just the right amount of raspberry taste. Recipe

My Serenity

I love my bedroom. It makes me happy and calm all at the same time. I don't spend much time in here, but I should. I love everything about it, the aqua walls, the crisp white sheets with mine and my husbands' initials, the white picture frames holding beautiful pictures of us. It has come a long way since we moved in. I made the headboard myself, I will eventually make a post on how to make one, it was very easy. I changed our nightstands from lime green to white, just by spray painting them, I did the same thing with our once black, now white, picture frames. I also added this beautiful wispy canopy over our bed which really give the bed life. I also normally have fresh flowers on the nightstand, but I haven't had the chance to run to the florist and pick some up.

How To: Makeup Storage

I love my makeup, its like one of my babies. I kept buying different makeup bags to accommodate my growing makeup collection, but it always looked messy and unkempt. I put it in my medicine cabinet in my bathroom, and that's where it has been for the past year, until now. I recently bought these acrylic cases and I love them. I love how clean they look. It makes me proud to display my makeup. I did have to remove one of the drawers to accommodate my bigger items like my foundation. Next time I will buy a bigger acrylic case, but for now these are exactly what I need.

How To: Fishtail Braid

Some days my hair just doesn't want to cooperate for me. Everything I try, curling, straightening, putting it under a hat, just doesn't work. I have found that a beautiful fishtail braid always works, no matter how unruly my hair wants to be. I always get compliments on how intricate it looks. It is actually quite easy, you just have to get your hands in a rhythm and  you are good to go. Please let me know if you would like a video of it, to explain it further.
Put your hair to one side, or to the back of your head.
Part it into two equal sections.
Take a piece of hair from the back of the left section and wrap it around that section.
While holding the left section that you just wrapped around, take another piece from the back of the right section and wrap it around.
Crisscross the two pieces you just wrapped around your hair.
While holding the right piece you just used to wrap, grab another piece of hair from the back of the left section.
Wrap it around and crisscross with your right section. Continue down your hair, keep grabbing sections from the back and crisscross in the middle.
