I had so much fun yesterday! I had my girl from Seattle come over, we had a little sleepover party, did our nails, hair, and makeup. In the morning I made her chocolate crepes, we hung around home for a bit. I took her to lunch at The Burger Joint, I had the Ahi burger, and then I took her to get some frozen yogurt and my favorite shop. I love having my girls around me, they mean the world to me!

Orange-Red Pants and the Carnival

This weekend was gorgeous! It had been 96 degrees for what seemed like forever, so 80 degree weather was more than welcomed. There was a fundraiser carnival going on in out town so we went to that. I am a sucker for candy apples, fried dough, fried oreos, just abut all the fair food. My daughter went on every ride over and over, she had so much fun and that made it so worth it. 

I have also been changing up my blog a bit, I wasn't completely in love with the name, so my girlfriend came over and we brainstormed all day. I can now say that I am very happy with my blog name and I feel that it describes my personality more.

I love high waisted anything, skirts, shorts, jeans, pants. They accentuate your smallest part of your waist and make you look super skinny. My girlfriend introduced me to ASOS.com, where I found this gorgeous mint peplum high waisted skirt. I love the way it hugs my hips and makes me feel super girly with that added frill at the bottom.

How To: Half Moon Manicure

 Cut a semi circle in tape and place it over your finger

apply clear coat to the half moon area 

(you can put nail polish here as well)

 apply glitter to wet clear coat

 remove excess glitter from surrounding skin

 remove tape and put clear coat on the entire nail

This weekend went by way to quick. I caught up with my girlfriend who I hadn't seen in years. I love when I can see friends after a long period of time and pick up where we left off.  We went and got lunch at one of our favorite spots and then grabbed some cupcakes for dessert. I had an amazing time with her! My daughter had a birthday party to go to, we did some errands, and yesterday I got my monthly massage at Red Door. Overall it was a wonderful weekend, I can't wait to see what this week brings us!

Finding a good pair of jeans to fit me is near impossible. I have a 24 waist but a rounder backside, this always leaves me with jeans that fit on my thighs and backside but are huge at the top. I have been searching for some new jeans for a while, about 18 months, and I have finally found my favorite, Paige Denim. I love Hudson Jeans, Fade to Blue, and some Bebe jeans, but I have found my match with Paige. I love the rise, the different washes, styles, and how I can pair them with sky high heels and make my legs look super long. I plan on going back to the store to get a lot more of this brand.

Yesterday morning my daughter and I slept in, after a couple hours of lounging around the house we ran our errands and came home to clean up and wait for my girlfriend to come over. The weather went up and down all day, one minute it was raining and the next it was sunny. I decided on a cute top that I found at Forever 21. some skinny jeans, and these heel less shoes that just arrived at my door, and boy are they comfortable! These are by far my favorite shoes that I own, so far.

LBD- Long Black Dress

We had wonderful weather this weekend, so naturally I took advantage of it. I had a lot of running around to do so I needed to wear something flowy and effortless. I love this black dress that I bought at Saks, it is so comfortable and the attached braided belt gives the dress shape. I took my daughter bathing suit shopping and got some ice cream. We had a nice girls day together, I love having girls days with her. Overall it was a wonderful weekend, and now here comes the rain.

Embracing Your Roots

On Friday it was my mothers birthday so my daughter and I took her to the city for some shopping and eating. We went to this little candle shop where I found an amazing tuberose scent and my mother found a bunch of goodies for her house. We went to a chocolate shop and over indulged on chocolate. We went in and out of a lot of cute shops, window shopping and buying a couple unique things. Then we went to dinner at this cute Italian restaurant where I gave her my gift. It was a wonderful day. I love spending time with her.

I have been on the search for maxi dresses for the summer and I thought I had found my dream one, which I wore in this post, but I may have found a new favorite in this dress. It is the most comfortable thing on the planet. The second I saw this dress I knew it had to be mine. I love the extra layer of fabric on the top giving it a more feminine look and the dropped back. I wore this with a Bebe belt to accentuate my waist more and nude wedge sandals. I also added a waterfall braid to give it a more boho feel.
