I recently tried on a pair (number 3 to be exact) of these babies and I was amazed at how comfortable they were. I loved the way they looked on me and the instant style I had. These have been out for 3 years now, but they have just caught my eye now. I recently ordered a couple pairs and I cannot wait to get them home and wear them around. I will keep you updated on how it goes.

Embracing Your Roots

Fade to Blue Colored Jeans, Steve Madden Wedges

On Friday it was my mothers birthday so my daughter and I took her to the city for some shopping and eating. We went to this little candle shop where I found an amazing tuberose scent and my mother found a bunch of goodies for her house. We went to a chocolate shop and over indulged on chocolate. We went in and out of a lot of cute shops, window shopping and buying a couple unique things. Then we went to dinner at this cute Italian restaurant where I gave her my gift. It was a wonderful day. I love spending time with her.

Foodie Fridays: Chocolate Crepes

Every year on mothers day and my mothers birthday I make crepes, they are her favorite and you can do them a million different ways. This mothers day I did something different and I made her chocolate crepes, which was a huge hit. I had mine with nutella and banana and my mother had them with strawberries and fresh whipped cream. It is now her birthday today and I will be making these again for her. I just want to say mama I love you so much and thank you for being an amazing mom and nana.

My Shoe Display

As I have stated in this post I have been searching for a place to display my shoes. I needed something that would make my shoes shine without being too expensive, as it will only be used for the next year. I found a few great ideas at IKEA  but this is the one that I chose. It cost me $150 total and I couldn't be happier. I like the door so that my daughter doesn't get to touch them but I can still see whats in the case. I added the lights so that my shoes felt like the spot light is always on them. Overall I am very happy with my quick fix and I hope I inspired all of you to do something with your shoes!

How To: Eyelash Extensions

I get compliments on my eyelashes almost every day. Everyone always asks if they are real and tells me how lucky I am to have such beautiful lashes. I have always had long eyelashes, so I am used to getting compliments and questions. Recently my girlfriend introduced me to a whole new world, eyelash extensions. I loved how long her lashes looked and how easy it was for her every morning. I decided I wanted to do mine to. After paying $150 at the salon, which was a good price, I found that I did like them, but I wasn't in love. I went back twice more and the last time I really liked the way they looked, however, she used synthetic hair which ended up melting one day while I was doing my hair. I then thought, why can't I do this? So I did and I could not be more happy with the outcome!

What you will need:
eyelash glue- I used this one
eyelashes- I used this. this, and this
tweezers
tape
a blow dryer

How To: Day to Night Braid

I love braids for the summer, I am always looking for new braids to try out and perfect them. I think they can be casual or fancy depending on how you dress them up, or down. I recently saw a picture of a girl with this kind of braid and needed to try it out. I wore it today while it was raining out but didn't get the chance to photograph how to do it. As per it being Monday my girlfriend came over for some girl time and I decided I would use her as my model to show you how to make this fabulous braid. I love this and as my girlfriend says you can wear this to a fancy party or to the grocery store.

Do an inside out braid, which is a braid on the outside, basically crossing the middle piece over instead of under

braid all the way down one side of the head and then tie whole head of hair to the side

rub gel or glue on hair to give it texture

wrap hair around pony tail

Use a toothpick to fan out braid
fan out the entire braid from bottom to top

add some sparkly bobby pins or flowers and you are done

Open Back and Prints

I have been on the search for maxi dresses for the summer and I thought I had found my dream one, which I wore in this post, but I may have found a new favorite in this dress. It is the most comfortable thing on the planet. The second I saw this dress I knew it had to be mine. I love the extra layer of fabric on the top giving it a more feminine look and the dropped back. I wore this with a Bebe belt to accentuate my waist more and nude wedge sandals. I also added a waterfall braid to give it a more boho feel.

Foodie Fridays: Scones

I love breakfast, I have found that if I have a delicious meal ready for me in the morning it makes it easier to wake up. I love foods that you can make at the beginning of the week and have for the duration of it. I don't know why I don't make these scones more, they are delicious. Growing up I had a nanny that would make scones and brown bread when I was over, to this day scones remind me of her.
